Celebrating International Plastic Free Day at Li’l Miracles

At Li’l Miracles International Preschool, we believe in sowing the seeds of responsibility early—because even the tiniest hands can shape a better tomorrow. On the occasion of International Plastic Bag Free Day, our little ones took a big step toward protecting the planet in a way that was engaging, meaningful, and memorable.

We celebrated this day with a special pretend play activity, where our teachers brought stories to life by dressing up as characters that explained the dangers of plastic bags. True to the core principle of preschool education—from near to far learning—we began with what children know and see every day. With colorful paper bags and real cloth bags in hand, our children were gently guided to understand, “This is the bag you should take when going vegetable or grocery shopping.”

The children not only listened, but felt the importance of saying no to plastic. Pretend play gave them the opportunity to absorb facts about pollution, marine life, and the lasting harm of single-use plastic in a way their young minds could truly grasp.

Why do we do this at Li’l Miracles? Because we know that learning is more than information—it’s transformation. And that begins with building a strong emotional quotient (EQ). When children feel empathy for nature, animals, and the earth, they are far more likely to grow into conscious, compassionate individuals.

We don’t just teach. We inspire.

By making environmental learning playful and emotional, we help our preschoolers understand that their choices matter—even if it’s just choosing a cloth bag over plastic. After all, creating a plastic-free world begins with awareness, and awareness begins in a child’s heart.
